Referential nets as ACT-R declarative memory representation
نویسنده
چکیده
Two different predictions • Solution 1 predicts that accessing knowledge about a refO takes time. • Solution 2 finishes the comparison within a single ACT-R cycle. → ACT-R predicts behaviour according to solution 1. → Referential nets predict solution 2 (immediate access to a refO’s information). → Solution 2 is supported by inC (incremental conceptualiser, Guhe et al 2003). → Processing of concepts predicts different processing times: – Solution 1 predicts longer processing times for bigger refOs: at least one ACT-R cycle per attribute. – No empirical support for this prediction: there is no evidence that familiar (big) concepts take longer to process.

Distribution in a Demand Driven Style
In this paper we present a model of distribution as a natural consequence of deterministic concurrency; a purely declarative form of concurrency that preserves referential transparency. This extends the demand driven model used as the operational basis of functional languages, into one with multiple independent demands without the need to allow non-determinism to appear at the user level. The a...

Critical discourse analysis as a type of social practice reveals how linguistic choices enable speakers to manipulate the realizations of agency and power in the representation of action. The present study examines the relationship between language and ideology and explores how such a relationship is represented in the analysis of spoken text and to show how declarative knowledge, beliefs, attit...
متن کاملPsychometric Properties of the Persian Word Pairs Task for Declarative Memory Assessment
Objective: According to the declarative/procedural model, the semantic aspect of language depends on the brain structures responsible for declarative memory. The word pairs task is a common tool for evaluating declarative memory. The current study aimed to design a valid and reliable task for evaluating declarative memory in Persian children at learning and retention stages and to investigate i...
متن کاملUnsurpervised Learning in Hybrid Cognitive Architectures
We present a model of unsupervised learning in the hybrid SAL (Synthesis of ACT-R and Leabra) architecture. This model follows the hypothesis that higher evaluative cognitive mechanisms can serve to provide training signals for perceptual learning. This addresses the problem that supervised learning seems necessary for strong perceptual performance, but explicit feedback is rare in the real wor...

This book is basically the “final report” of John Anderson’s ACT (Adaptive Control of Thought) project, which involves nothing less than the creation of lra unitary theory of mind ” This is not the “final report” on ACT in the sense that Anderson will now stop working on it, but it is in the sense that Anderson considers the ACT theory to be in “final shape.” Thus, far from abandoning work on A...
